We want your old Ink Cartridges

The Turbo Charged Fundraising programme from the Cartridge People is an opportunity for Heart of England to raise money every time our members/parents/students buy ink or toner for their printer. It does not cost anything extra – they’re just happy to help raise funds for good causes and are prepared to contribute 10% of an orders value to the organisation that introduced the person ordering to them.

They also participate in the Empties Please programme and will pay a sum of money for empty HP, Dell, Lexmark and Canon Cartridges or Toners. Start collecting your cartridges now and pass them to your Instructor.

We want all your old clothes, shoes and linen.

Heart of England are collecting old and unwanted clothing, shoes and linen for recycling. These are being taken to Savanna Rags who are paying a fee for each complete kilo. All the monies raised are going to Heart of England Funds for Students travelling to Korea. Please pass any items you have to your Instructors or Alison Williams. Every little helps.

Sponsored Swim Fundraising Event

Well done to all the Heart of England Students who took part on their magnificent effort in the pool. This was an extremely testing challenge for most of us and we came through on the day with a real team effort to notch up nearly four miles between 14 of us. Jenny Williams and Aaron Cobley also put in magnificent efforts on the day. Thanks to all of you and to all the people who very generously sponsored us. Final monies raised will be announced shortly.

Alice Mulligan from Bilborough

Swims 1 Mile in 39 minutes.

A huge thank you to 8 year old Alice Mulligan who managed a solo mile in 39 minutes raising a huge £210.00. You put us adults to shame .

Megan Rea from Kimberley

Swims 1 mile in 34 minutes!!!

Megan Rea from Kimberley has single-handedly raised £100.00 in sponsorship with an outstanding solo swimming performance. Megan who was originally planning on undertaking the swim on 29th May discovered she was double booked and so decided to go it alone. Many thanks Rea from all of us who've been selected for the World Championships. Your efforts will go a long way to helping us get to Korea.

Self Defence Seminar with

Mr Gary Bradshaw 6th Degree

With around 60 people attending this was another very successful event raising £320.00; £250.00 of which was donated by Lloyd Schools Students from their Sparring Sessions Fund. Thanks to Mr Bradshaw for giving up his time for free and who kept everyone occupied for more than 2 hours with some excellent insights into effective self defence. If you missed it don't worry there will be another one later in the year. All the proceeds have been donated to the Korea Funds.

Star Wars Memorabilia Raffle

The Raffle was drawn on Fight Night. The winner and funds raised will be announced shortly. Thanks again to Mr Vis Pather of the Hucknall School and Mrs Henley from Nottingham for their generous donations.

Tesco's Vouchers

Heart of England is now registered with Tesco for using their schools and club vouchers if you or anyone you know has any we can have them please. Please pass them onto your instructors or direct to Mrs Sue Lloyd

Sponsored Chest Waxing

Andy Cobley from the Staveley TKD School had his chest waxed to raise £750.00 for Heart of England Selectees. This was an extremely painful undertaking and we all thank him for his fund raising efforts.

Bag Packing Session 2010

Fundraising Event

Our thanks to everyone who took time out of their day today to come and help at the Bag Pack which raised another £541 towards the Korea Funds. It was great to see the younger members of Heart of England working so hard and behaving so well. They all did us proud today.

Thanks also to the parents who brought them along and stayed to help.

50 white boards in 57 seconds!!!

Mr Bradshaw raised £57 in 1 minute from the Sitwell Arms in Morton whilst doing a 1 minute sponsored break; he managed 50 Boards in 57 seconds. These were all white adult boards. Well done! He is planning to try again at fight night and see if he can beat his current record. Come along and support him. All monies raised will go to the Heart of England funds for the World Championship selectees.

Heart of England Fight Night 22nd May

This event was a massive success raising £2,200.00 and was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. The Heart of England World Championship Competitors and Organisers would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported this event including Darren Kissane and his staff at Oak Tree Leisure Centre who set everything up and provided an excellent venue for the evening. Thanks to all those students who competed on the night and without whom there would have been no Fight Night. You all competed in the true spirit of Martial Arts and your behaviour a credit to you all. The fighting was truly World Class. Thank you finally to those who provided the demonstrations of both Taekwon-do and Gymnastics. They were all excellent and made the evening complete.

Mrs Ducker's Raffle 2010

2010 - Thanks to Mrs Ducker who raised £121.00 with her latest

Raffle. The main prize, a Pamper Basket, was very generously

donated by Mrs Molyneaux from Leabrooks JT's and was won by Michelle Hogg from Kirkby JT's with ticket no.7
