The Junior Taekwon-do syllabus
Formerly Little PUMA's our 4-6 year olds are now known as Junior Taekwon-do or JT's and with their new name comes a new Uniform. The Junior Taekwon-do program is made up of an age-specific syllabus that has been professionally designed to teach important life skills to children in an exciting and fun way. Your child will learn the unique skills of a martial artist such as, discipline, self-defence, co-ordination as well as the essential life and development skills necessary in today's society.
The Junior Taekwon-do syllabus consists of the following nine themes:
TEAMWORK AND
LEADERSHIP
What your child will experience
First and foremost your child will have fun in a safe and healthy environment... and all the while they will be learning valuable skills. The emphasis of the program is progress and achievement based on each individual child's learning pace. Your child will learn that by paying attention and participating in class they will earn new belts and succeed towards black belt. Therefore Junior TKD Students learn to understand that perseverance will enable them to conquer frustrations as tasks become more difficult. In turn this will allow them to tackle more difficult goals with self-confidence and self-discipline, which will serve as a strong foundation to achieve in all aspects of life.
Results you can expect
For each child to succeed in their themes, they will be encouraged to interact with their classmates and instructor.
CONFIDENCE Junior TKD Students are rewarded every step of the way for personal achievements and also as part of a group. Confidence increases with recognition of their individual efforts and achievements.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEVELOPMENT Junior TKD activities will encourage your child's physical development. Our syllabus is designed to improve your child's motor skills as well as promoting a positive self image.
DECREASES PARENT SEPARATION ANXIETY Each class slowly acclimatises your child to an environment away from their parents or carers, this will result in your child becoming less clingy and more confident as an individual. All of these skills will help your child grow with a confident and enthusiastic outlook. Your child will become a better student at school and better disciplined at home.
PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES
It is an essential requirement of the Child Protection Policy that Parents, Guardians or Carers of Junior TKD Students remain within the teaching room whilst their child is training. It is not acceptable for a child to be dropped of at training and left unsupervised.
